Our Story

Our story began in the early 1900’s when the people  on or near Rocky Fork recognized the importance of worshipping God together and began meeting.  After several years, this small group with the help of W. E Stivers organized a group to form the Rocky Fork Christian Union Church in November of 1932.
The church outgrew the old schoolhouse where the meetings were being held and land was bought and construction was started on a new building.  On August 30, 1960, the first worship service was held in the new Hill's Chapel Christian Union Church.  The name was changed in honor of Mr. Delbert Hill who had been such a faithful leader of the congregation.  In 2015 the congregation changed the name to Hills Chapel of Otway.

Although our church family is made of up of people in different places in their journey, there are three major cords that bind us together.
  • We are real people, who share a similar faith, we are committed to a common vision and we are joined together in a covenant love for our Savior.

  • We used to be completely broken, but we are now grateful for undeserved redemption, and grace that brought healing and provided hope through Jesus Christ.

  • We serve a good and perfect God.  Who provides not only healing, but also hope, and the ability to become new creations in Christ.

Hills Chapel exists to glorify God by sharing the gospel to all of those we meet and by making Christ-like followers who make Christ-like followers.
